I think I'm giving up on shaving creams for good.
I will probably only use shaving soaps from here on out. I'm not sure what it is, but I almost always have a better shave with soaps over creams. When I say better, I mean better in almost every way: closer, smoother, better glide, less irritation, and so on.
I'm trying to figure out is if this is a normal progression. Do most wet shavers move from creams to soaps? Should I also expect my move from cartridge razors to DE safety razors to continue on to straight razors?
One of my goals when I started Tailor and Barber was to provide a forum for open discussion on style and grooming topics. I want all guys to learn from each other, not just provide a lecture/article on topics I find relevant.
With this in mind, I want to open up this topic for discussion. Shaving soaps vs. creams: is it progression or just preference?
