L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream Review

L'Occitane Cade Shaving Products

I think when most men think about wet shaving products, L’Occitane en Provence is not the first brand that comes to mind. But maybe it should be. The L’Occitane hand cream is one of my favorites. I’m not afraid to use it every winter. Having already reviewed the L’Occitane Cade aftershave balm and L’Occitane Cade shaving soap, I decided to turn my attention to the Cade shaving cream.

Most brands try to make their shaving soaps and shaving creams similar. Something like a soap version and a cream version of the same product, with one focused on slickness and another focused on cushion. The L’Occitane Cade shaving cream couldn’t be more different from the shaving soap. The shaving cream is thick, luxurious, and strongly scented, while the shaving soap is slick, light, and mildly scented. On the whole, i prefer the shaving cream, but let’s dig a little deeper into why.

L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream

Fragrance

I love the strength of the Cade fragrance in the shaving cream. It’s strong enough for me to enjoy, but not overpowering. Additionally, the woodsy, juniper scent works year-round. The cedar breaks out in the heat and the juniper really shines in the cold. This is one of those fragrances that I would totally recommend for a signature scent. If you’re looking for one fragrance to make your own, check out the entire Cade line.

Performance

The comfort/cushion of this shaving cream is off the charts. I put it up there with other top shelf shaving creams like Truefitt & Hill and D.R. Harris. I have found that the Cade shaving cream takes a bit more water than other shaving creams to really get going. I think this is due to the thickness out of the tube. A little goes a long way, and a decent amount of water is needed to unlock its full potential. Make sure to add water as needed though. You can always add more, but can never take it out. Finally, the post shave feel with this cream is one of the best. My skin feels flawless when I use the Cade products.

Conclusion

The L’Occitane Cade shaving cream is a luxury product worth every penny. I highly recommend this shaving cream and the entire line of Cade-scented products.
